My Story

Mari Marcel Thekaekara is a celebrated independent writer whose work brings to light the struggles of India’s marginalized communities. With a career spanning decades, Mari has contributed to prominent publications including The Hindu, Frontline, The Guardian UK, The Telegraph Calcutta, The Wire, Scroll, and the New Internationalist UK.

Her groundbreaking book, Endless Filth: The Saga of Safai Karamacharis, chronicles the lives of sanitation workers, exposing systemic injustice and advocating for their dignity. Through Marginally Speaking, Mari continues to tell stories that demand justice and inspire change.
